To accommodate tables in the upstairs area, MRD designed and built a custom, site-specific trough LED light fixture. The trough is made of walnut veneer and is hung directly above the tables. The trough includes a multiple light source fixture. The primary LED light source runs through an acrylic lens and tightens the light beam – sending warm white LED lines to the center of table. The secondary light source uses an RGB white strip to push light through the trough’s interior and is covered with a reflective film that makes the box glow. Built within MRD’s workshop facility, it is a technical marvel and its unique combination of design and technical trial and error ultimately made it successful.
