The Pier A Mast is a forty foot tall lighting sculpture designed and built for the main stairwell. The design was conceived when it became apparent that the stairwell needed more than just harsh emergency lighting. The Mast is not only a functional element providing a soft ambient glow for the passing visitors, but it also acts as a visual cornerstone to enliven the transitional space.
