MRD has a long and successful history working in the marine industry and one of its more notable projects is the Blaze Nightclub on the Royal Caribbean Oasis of the Seas cruise ship. Faced with structural and spacial challenges, MRD designed a dynamic and versatile lighting solution that turned the nightclub into an award-winning destination. MRD specified an LED panel product that was thin enough to fit in the shallow ceiling plenum while complimenting the architecture. This was the first time this product was used on a ship and as a ceiling piece, and the result was a successful, versatile club environment.
MRD received the Live Design Magazine Excellence Award in the venue/club category for design on the Blaze Nightclub.
